Throttle Position
A Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) is a crucial component in modern vehicles that monitors the position of the throttle and sends this information to the vehicle’s engine control unit (ECU). The TPS is connected to the throttle body and detects how far the throttle is opened by the driver, typically through accelerator pedal movement. This sensor provides real-time data, allowing the ECU to adjust fuel injection, ignition timing, and air intake for optimal engine performance. The TPS ensures smooth acceleration, efficient fuel consumption, and better engine response. It also plays a key role in systems like cruise control and automatic transmissions, making it essential for both performance and safety.
